Episode 37: Red River / Citrus Breeze -Sunrise-

We bring you this episode at long last after many rounds of re-dos and technical difficulties!

Join Lella, Julie, Heidi, and Jenn for an extensive chat about Cosmos Troupe’s Spring Grand Theater show ‘The Sky Is On The Banks Of The Red River’ and ‘Citrus Breeze: Sunrise’. It’s kind of a long one, but it’s because we loved it so much and had so many feelings! We apologize for the delay, due to the technical issues it was recorded several months after the show ended, but all aspects of the show and cast are discussed, and hopefully you’ll enjoy flailing about this awesome show with us!

There were MANY people discussed in this episode as it’s a huge cast, probably too many to list them all, but here are some links to the main cast and show, plus/including our individual favorites that were mentioned:

  1. I love listening to all of these podcasts! Your enthusiasm and love for Takarazuka makes my long work days so much more enjoyable! 🙂 <3

  2. Loved this episode. Had the takawiki up on the Red River page so that I could look up each actress as you talked about each one.
Thank you for talking about the plot since it’s still hard for me to pick up most of the Japanese. I know, after 10 years I should be better.
Welcome to Jenn, the newcomer, may Takarazuka bring you much joy and heartbreak in the coming years.

    1. Thank you for listening!
There are so many siennes to love. XD and I tend to have the takawiki page open whenever we record an ep. It’s such a good resource.
It was pretty heavy on the plot, especially when it came to things that you might need to know beforehand because they had to cut down the story. I don’t think I would have had such an easy time understanding it if I hadn’t know the plot of the manga.

  3. This was a wonderful podcast. I especially loved your discussion of Kiki. I have been a fan of hers since her Hanagumi days and was surprised with her transfer to Soragumi. I always loved her singing and was afraid that her beautiful voiced was being dialed down. And, yes! I agree that using the nibante for the triangle in the opera sequence was the only way to go. I was so disappointed in previous stagings that Susshi was used instead. So kudos to Soragumi for having such a strong lineup of performers.

    1. That makes me happy to hear! Thank you for listening. 🙂

The opera sequence is magical, amg. And I too am happy that Kiki is getting to sing a lot. I went to see Shirasagi yesterday and they are definitely showing off Kiki’s singing prowess. She is just so powerful and secure in everything she does. <3

  4. This was great! So glad I finally saw this – it totally cut my holiday drive boredom in half! Can’t wait for the next episode!

  5. Thank you for your continued work on these podcasts! They are so informative and fun to listen to. Will you all be continuing to record podcasts in this new year ?
    ありがとうございます~
