  1. I thought it might be interesting to note that there is a place for tall dancers in revue shows outside of Japan as well! In Vegas the minimum height is often 5′ 8″ and showgirls 6 foot and over are not uncommon at all! On cruise ships as well, there was a minimum height of 5′ 6″ for some of the more classic Vegas style show sets. There may not be quite as much artistic opportunity as in Zuka, but these are still good professional dance jobs that require heavy training (and you don’t always need to take your shirt off either, heh).

  2. *happy sigh* I love podcasting but I think I love listening to the ones I’m not in even more XD Thank you for renewing my Kenshin mania and making it impossible to concentrate on work for the fourth day in a row.

IT’S SO GOOD, BY THE WAY. I wish I could see it every day.

  3. I started listening to your podcast only recently, but I just want to say that it’s really enjoyable listening to you guys getting hyped up over upcoming shows! 2016 is shaping up to be an excellent year, with an outstanding line-up… Kenshin looks and sounds amazing, I want to snap up the BD/DVD as soon as it’s on sale. I only wish I could see it live… Sigh. But I supppose that I think that for nearly every show!

And of course, for the other episodes, it’s also wonderful hearing people talking passionately about shows they love, especially when I’ve never heard of them – some of the 80’s and 90’s ones you mentioned in the Christmas episode sound absolutely wacky! (It’s a pity that they don’t really do completely silly shows nowadays as far as I’m aware…)

Anyway, I’ll let you get on with it. Really looking forward to the next episode!

  4. Speaking of Sanosuke’s shirt, in Sengoku BASARA, the character Sanada Yukimura is also kind of shirtless. But I thought the inner shirt that they got for the Ranju Tomu’s costume blended quite well with the jacket and everything. It doesn’t look weird like it did for Sano here. But yeah, Sanada was the main character in that play anyway.
I too thought that Dai was chosen for the role because of her height. That was probably also the reason why she played a French guy in JIN.

There was quite a lot of people who were not too happy with Takei Emi’s Kaoru in the live action when it came out. I think Yuumi-chan is a much better actress (^__^)
